About Me:
Kevin trained as a general and psychiatric nurse in London, working predominately in the East End and then in care of the dying and bereavement counselling at St Christopher’s Hospice. Having qualified as a District Nurse, he continued to work in London but in a community setting.
Later he joined the staff of the Royal College of Nursing in a professional and trade union role working with members in the London Teaching Hospitals.
He went on to lead a senior management team whose responsibilities included an award winning 24hour 7/7 Contact Centre providing professional nursing, employment and legal advice; member services and support functions with an annual turnover in excess of £50m; a UK distribution centre; and facilities management.
An alumnus of the Work Foundation’s Campaign for Leadership he worked with them on providing innovative leadership learning experiences for senior staff in industry, commerce, and the senior civil service. In his final years at the RCN he was Programme Director of a number of multi-million pound projects and led substantial organisational change innovations and modernisation processes using Lean thinking. He led the RCN’s executive coaching programme and was a supervisor of coaches and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Kevin was ordained priest in the Church in Wales in 2007 and upon retiring from full-time secular employment, he was appointed Rector in Usk and successfully formed the first Ministry Area in the Diocese. He later moved to Raglan and formed the new Heart of Monmouthshire Ministry Area, navigating the challenges of uniting twenty church communities and establishing a new charity.
